A. Pierson Case
Overview
Asahel Pierson Case married Lovina W. Coburn (born 1820) and they had two children: Maria (born 1829) and Charles Salmon (1846-1898). Case served in the Union army during the Civil War with the 146th NY Volunteers.

Biography
Worked with his father Salmon and brother Josiah in the Case Store, then Case and Sons, on Seneca St, Vernon.
In 1862, Case volunteered to join the Union cause in the Civil War. At 40, he was one of the eldest recruits in what became the 146th New York Volunteers regiment, a zouave unit that was part of the NY 5th Division. He served with Lieutenant James. E. Jenkins of Vernon, and by the time Jenkins became General of the division, Case became the Lieutenant.
He served as president of the National Bank of Vernon, which his father helped found.
His son Charles, donated the building at the corner of Peterboro and Seneca which was at one point the Judson Law offices to the Vernon Public Library in memory of his parents, and it was known then as the Case Memorial Building of the Vernon Public Library.
